✔️ How does Clindax Lotion 25ml work?

Clindamycin inhibits protein synthesis by reversibly binding to the 50S subunit of the ribosome, thereby blocking the transpeptidation or translocation reactions of susceptible organisms, resulting in stunted cell growth.

✔️ Side Effects of Clindax Lotion 25ml

• Common (>10%): Dryness (18-23%), Oiliness (1-18%), Erythema (7-16%), Peeling (7-11%), Burning/itching (6-11%)
• Less common (1-10%): Headache (3%)

• You have been prescribed Lindamax Lotion for the treatment of acne.
• You may need to use it for an extended period before seeing improvement. Be patient and use it daily.
• Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying the lotion.
• Apply a thin layer onto clean, dry, unbroken skin affected by acne.
• It may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if these symptoms persist.
• Avoid contact with eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse thoroughly with water if accidental contact occurs.
• If the treated area becomes more irritated and infected, stop using Lindamax Lotion and consult your doctor.

Lindamax Lotion is indicated for the treatment of:

• Acne vulgaris
• Erythrasma caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum
• Rosacea
• Periorificial dermatitis
• Folliculitis
• Stasis dermatitis
• Chronic lymphedema
• Familial pemphigus
• Dermal ulcers

✔️ Pharmacology

Lindamax Lotion contains clindamycin, a lincosamide antibiotic. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. This inhibition occurs through the reversible binding to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, blocking the transpeptidation or translocation reactions of susceptible organisms, thus preventing bacterial growth and infection spread.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Clindax Lotion 25ml

Adult Dose:

• Topical/Cutaneous Acne: Apply a thin layer onto the affected area twice daily (bid).

Child Dose:

• Safety and efficacy are not established for children under 12 years old.
• For children over 12 years: Apply a thin layer onto the affected area twice daily (bid).

✔️ Interaction

• May enhance the action of neuromuscular blocking agents (e.g., atracurium).
• May antagonize the effects of parasympathomimetics.
• May competitively inhibit the effects of macrolides, ketolides, streptogramins, linezolid, and chloramphenicol.
• Increased coagulation tests (prothrombin time/INR) and/or bleeding with vitamin K antagonists (e.g., warfarin, acenocoumarol, fluindione).

✔️ Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to clindamycin.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy: Systemic administration of clindamycin during the second and third trimesters has not been associated with an increased frequency of congenital abnormalities. There are no adequate studies in pregnant women during the first trimester. Clindamycin should be used during the first trimester only if clearly needed.
• Lactation: It is not known whether clindamycin is excreted in human milk following topical therapy. Clindamycin has the potential to cause adverse effects on the gastrointestinal flora of breastfed infants. Monitor infants for possible adverse effects, such as diarrhea, candidiasis (thrush, diaper rash), or rarely, blood in the stool indicating possible antibiotic-associated colitis. The developmental and health benefits of breastfeeding should be considered along with the mother's clinical need for clindamycin and any potential adverse effects on the breastfed child.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Not for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use.
• Avoid exposure to sunlight and sunlamps; wear sunscreen daily.
• Use with caution during lactation as it is unknown whether clindamycin is excreted in human milk following topical application.
